LES666 PLAYS THE BUCHLA AND THE BUCHLA PLAYS THE LESLIE
February 1, 2026.
Phillip T. Young Recital Hall, University of Victoria.
Presented for Shapes for Sounds Festival.

Abstract:
MFA candidate LES666 plays UVic’s own rare Buchla, an original vintage analogue synthesizer, ‘an alter to electronic music’ in quadrophonia, and including their own spinning speaker, the Leslie. This piece explores technology as both a language and tool of aesthetics in search of desire; the beeps and boops an abstract playful self-portrait.
